For more than 25 years, SpectraRep, LLC has been a leader in television datacasting technology, holding a suite of patents and advancing the state of public alert dissemination through its AlertNow, LLC subsidiary. The company’s core expertise—television datacasting—enables encrypted content to be delivered directly to targeted receivers, invisible to the broader public. This technology forms the foundation of a robust, multi-modal network that also distributes alerts via the internet, LTE, satellite, and NOAA Weather Radio (NWR).
As a result, AlertNow ensures reliable message delivery, even when cellular networks are down, tackling one of the most persistent challenges in public alerting.
AlertNow Backed by Patented Technology
With four U.S. Utility Patents and a network of 130 ATSC 1.0 stations, 6 ATSC 3.0 stations, and 120 translators, AlertNow reaches over 220 million Americans—a number that continues to grow.
The AlertNow network uses NextGen (ATSC 3.0) and current (ATSC 1.0) broadcast standards. It addresses the challenge of relying on cell towers for public alerts during emergencies, where overload can lead to congestion and failures, especially in rural areas with limited coverage.
